THE VENEZUELAN FILM FESTIVAL IN HOUSTON - VEFF HOUSTON
Packing the very best of VEFFNY and adding recently premiered Venezuelan films, the Venezuelan Film Festival in Houston brings Venezuela's finest cinema to one of the largest Venezuelan communities outside Venezuela: Houston. VEFF Houston 2016 will take place November 1st to 4th.

Packing the very best of The Venezuelan Film Festival in New York, VEFFNY, and adding recently premiered Venezuelan films, the Venezuelan Film Festival in Houston brings Venezuela's finest cinema to one of the largest Venezuelan communities outside Venezuela: Houston.
Presented by Maravilla in partnership with Alamo Drafthouse, and with the support of El Venezolano Houston, Tepuy, the Houston Film Commission and The Venezuelan American Endowment for the Arts, VEFF Houston's second edition will include some of the very best recent Venezuelan films, including the first Latin American film to ever win the Venice Film Festival: Desde Allá, Lorenzo Vigas' opera prima.
The festival will open with the film 'El Malquerido', by veteran Venezuelan filmmaker Diego Risquez, featuring Jesús "Chino" Miranda as legendary Venezuelan singer Felipe Pirela. Including in the program is VEFFNY's 2015 winner of the Best Film Jury Award Ex-aquo and 2015 Venezuelan selection for the Oscars 'Dauna: lo que lleva el río', and VEFFNY's 2015 winner of the Best Film Jury Award Ex-aquo '3 Bellezas'.
Come celebrate Venezuela and Venezuelan cinema with us, and meet some of the most talented filmmakers, actors and actresses from Venezuela. VEFF Houston's guests for 2016 include Venezuelan producer and actress Malena González (Los 8-6), Venezuelan filmmaker Mario Crespo (Dauna. lo que lleva el río), Venezuelan actress and journalist Ivonne Vela (Amor cuesta arriba), Venezuelan Filmmaker Carlos Caridad Montero (3 Bellezas), and Filmmaker and actor Tomás Piedra (Los 8-6).
